As an alternative or supplement to using model court filings from form books, you can also locate actual court filings used in previous court cases and follow them as a model. In particular, you may want to check what pleadings or motions have succeeded with a particular judge in the past.
However, always be cautious when using real court filings as models. Just because a document was filed in court does not mean it was well-thought out, well-drafted, or even coherent. Even a successful pleading may be poorly drafted and have succeeded only because the law was clear or the opposing pleading was equally terrible.
