Research Assistant: Borrowing

Library Catalogs

Borrowing from Loyola Libraries (LMU or LLS)

If you need to check out library books as part of your work as a research assistant, we encourage you to talk with your faculty member about adding you to their account. Once your faculty member submits this completed form, you will be able to check out books using the faculty member’s library account. This request may take some time to process, so please plan ahead to ensure borrowing privileges.

Borrowing from other libraries via ILL

Interlibrary Loan (borrowing from other libraries):

When using interlibrary loan, keep in mind the following tips:

  • Depending on availability, the book or article might arrive within the same day or a week or two.
  • Generally, the more information you provide, the faster the book or article will arrive.
  • You will be emailed when the book arrives and can pick it up at the circulation desk.
  • Due dates are set by the lending library and should be taken very seriously. They will cut off our borrowing if we do not return books!
